What is Sales-Ready?
Also called the Sales-Ready quadrant, high awareness and high readiness.
Sales-Ready is the Demand Compass quadrant where an account has high brand awareness and high readiness to buy, the only quadrant where sales should move fast, so the one move is rapid, precise, human follow-up by an AE with full context, not nurturing and not education.
Sales-Ready is the quadrant of the Demand Compass where both readings are high: the account knows you, and something is moving inside it right now. It is the only quadrant where sales should move fast, with full context. Don't nurture, don't educate. Act. The one move in the book's table is rapid, precise, human follow-up, the owner is the AE, and the motion is activation, the one motion in the system that converts. Everything else the Compass does, the awareness marketing builds and the readiness the instrument detects, exists to bring accounts here and route them to a human at the right moment with context attached.
The reason this quadrant closes is that awareness bought trust before the conversation started. An account that walks into a sales conversation already carrying trust, direct or transitive, converts at a higher rate and needs far less education, because the brand did that work in advance. The book's own numbers show the gap: a cold email with nothing behind it replies at one to three percent; the same channel into an audience that had engaged with our content first replied at almost twenty percent, more than nine in ten of those replies positive.
The misread is to let the label drift. When a team calls every engaged contact "sales-ready," it is sending Nurture accounts over the wall with the wrong name on them, and reps who can feel the difference reject the batch and stop trusting the source. The other misread is slowness: a Sales-Ready account is a window, and after the signal fires you usually have thirty to sixty days before it shortlists without you.
